The Portfolio continues to outpace its benchmark, IJR, by a wide margin. The Portfolio is up over 48% for 2023-2024 and 38% ahead of its benchmark.
BackTest – The Backtest for this Portfolio outperformed the IJR benchmark in 15 out of the 19 years tested. It underperformed in years 2008, 2015, 2017 and 2019. When the Portfolio outperformed, it was usually by a wide margin. The best year was 2009 when it was up by 127%.
Add – AMTX, CSTE, DERM, HNST, ILPT, NOA, TTSH, UTI, VRA
Remove – CPLP, HCSG, MG, MTW, NOTV, PANL, SXC, ULBI, VIRC
Noteworthy are ORN (added 2/26/24) and HRTG (added 08/18/23). They are up 28% and 80% respectively. VIRC (added 9/22/23), was Removed by the software. It was up 60%.

Backtests for the Model Portfolios
This update of the Small Cap Discoveries Model Portfolio is highlighted by its continuing outperformance over its benchmark. The Portfolio is up 48% since it went live at the beginning of 2023. The newly Added stocks and the Retained ones, now contain no tech stocks. This demonstrates that one does not need to be invested in tech stocks to make money in the stock market over time.
