- “Quant Alpha’s – Legacy” Model Portfolio is added
- Quant 30 – no stocks in the Penalty Box this week
- Quant Alphas Weekly – trails its benchmark
The revived portfolio will be named Quant Alpha’s – Legacy and will carry forward all 24 stocks from the original Quant Alpha’s Portfolio, which ceased updates on April 30, 2025. At the time updates ended, the original portfolio had gained +122%, compared to a +16% return from the benchmark EQAL over the same period. The original Quant Alpha’s Portfolio launched in April 2023.
Since April 30, 2025, no hard sell signals would have been triggered, meaning the portfolio would still hold the same 24 stocks today. Based on current prices, the portfolio’s performance would now stand at +170%, while EQAL has risen +27%—a remarkable continuation of its market-beating performance.
The revived Quant Alpha’s – Legacy portfolio will operate as follows: it will be updated weekly, just like the two portfolios listed below. However, no new stocks will be added. Stocks will only be Removed if the Quant system issues a hard Sell signal. This is a classic “Buy and Hold Until” strategy—designed to let winners continue to perform while cutting underperformers short. The result is a portfolio with very low turnover and a disciplined, rules-based approach.

This week marks the launch of the new Quant Alpha’s – Legacy Model Portfolio, which continues from where the original Quant Alpha’s Portfolio left off on April 30, 2025. The portfolio currently holds 23 stocks and operates as a Remove-Only model—no new Additions will be made.
Turnover is expected to be minimal, as stocks will only be Removed if they receive a hard Sell signal from the Quant system—a relatively rare event. In fact, only about 16% of all ranked stocks currently hold a Sell rating.
This portfolio serves as a real-time demonstration of a disciplined “Buy and Hold Until” strategy, allowing high-conviction stocks to remain in the portfolio while removing only those with materially weakened outlooks.
The Quant 30 Portfolio now has gone four weeks without any turnover. The Portfolio remains profitable. All thirty stocks still have high Quant Scores.
The Quant Alpha Weekly Portfolio continues it’s steady increase in new members.

For the Quant Alpha’s – Legacy Portfolio, it was started on April 14, 2023. At the time, the SPY was 13.4% below its all time high. The Legacy Portfolio is just continuing the Portfolio in place when the original Quant Alpha’s Portfolio was retired on 4/30/25. No Adds are to be made to the Legacy Portfolio, only Removes.
